Thank you for your email requesting information on actions by COS as signatories of the Pledge to Peace.
I am pleased to advise you that we celebrated a little early this year here in Leicester, UK, due to an opportunity of coinciding with the British Science Festival hosted by the De Montfort University, we have recorded the event on our YouTube channel see here:- https://youtu.be/Xi529m2n3kc .
I would like to to draw your attention to the fact that we were supported by the Vice Chancellor of the De Montfort University which is the UN’s designated International HUB for SDG16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. You can view VC Prof Katie Normington’s significant speech together with Deputy City Mayor Cllr Adam Clarke and Lord Mayor Cllr George Cole on the above link.
We will provide you a short highlights video in die course but as you can see from the VC’s speech ‘we are ahead of time as we are on many things’.
